According to a UFC Tonight report, top featherweight contender Chad Mendes is looking to renegotiate his current contract before his next fight. "Money" Mendes is hot off a first round TKO win over fellow top featherweight Ricardo Lamas last week at UFC Fight Night.
Per Mendes' manager Mike Roberts, the two-time title challenger's current contract expires in August. There is also one fight left on the agreement with the UFC.
Mendes wants to renegotiate his current contract before he fights next. According to his manager, he also wants to fight the winner of UFC 189's main event between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
Mendes' only two professional losses have come to the champion Aldo. In 2012, Mendes lost to Aldo via first round TKO.
Last October, however, Mendes fought Aldo tougher and closer than anyone has since he became champion. The two warred for five violent rounds, with Aldo winning a close decision.
